Modern Office Special Report: Developers see ballpark venues as home run with tenants

The crack of the baseball bat is spurring two developers to spend $36 million on office space in downtown Greensboro and High Point.

Front Street Capital, based in Winston-Salem, is investing $22 million in Project Slugger, an office project adjacent to First National Ball Park, home of the Greensboro Grasshoppers team.

In High Point, Elliott Sidewalk Communities is developing an $11 million office building called The Outfields at the BB&T Point Stadium, which opened last May as home to the High Point Rockers team. Elliott recently attracted Peters Development, led by High Point entrepreneur and gastroenterologist Dr. Lenny Peters, as an investor in the project.
